Spatial Systems

Spatial was looking for ways to capture their augmented collaboration tool in real-time. I was excited to jump on board and work with the dev team to create the real-time render rig.

 

Our Goal

Build a camera rig to capture real-time collaboration between physical and digital avatars. Leverage the rig on set, and composite real-time CGI from both Unity Engine via Microsoft Hololens and the camera feed.

Global & Local Environments

Spatial uses the local room as the primary environment, and all global environments mirror the hosts space. Both collaborators can interact with their co-workers avatar and objects within the environment.

Configuring Data rig

We captured the data from the Microsoft Hololens by using Unity Engine while filming the actors. This allowed us to collect the alpha channel and composite live CGI with the footage.
